Triplet

The word Photography literally means "painting with light", but it differs so much from conventional painting. A painter starts with a blank page and adds elements to the page till the desired image is achieved. Photography is more subtractive, the photographer starts with a scene and frames to remove elements that do not belong in the story he is trying to tell.

This is an exercise in reducing an image down to its minimum elements, just a curtain poll and its shadows, taken in a cottage in the Lake District.
